Quick Lime Powder (Calcium Oxide – CaO)
Other names: Burnt Lime Powder, Calcined Lime Powder, Unslaked Lime Powder
Manufacturer: Vietnam Technology Mineral JSC
Description:
Quick Lime Powder is a finely ground form of calcium oxide, produced by calcining high-quality limestone (CaCO₃) in rotary kilns at high temperatures. During this process, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is released, leaving pure CaO:
Reaction: CaCO₃ → CaO + CO₂
The powder form offers larger surface area and faster reactivity compared to quick lime lumps, making it ideal for applications that require rapid chemical reactions and homogeneous mixing. When in contact with water, it reacts vigorously (slaking), generating intense heat. With an alkaline pH around 12.5, it is strongly caustic — strict safety measures are required during handling.
Key Specifications:
-
CaO content: ≥ 90% (premium-grade)
-
Particle size: 200 mesh
-
Moisture content: ≤ 1–2% to maintain maximum reactivity

-
Reactivity: Extremely fast slaking, ideal setting time ~24 hours
-
Consistency: Uniform fineness, purity, and burning degree across batches
-
Storage stability: Retains quality for 6–12 months if stored in dry, airtight conditions
-
Source traceability: Produced from selected limestone and controlled kiln operations
Applications:
Quick Lime Powder is suitable for a wide range of industries:
